FACILITATED HEALTHCARE CONVERSATIONS
Medical or healthcare-related facilitation differs from traditional mediation. The goal is not a legal settlement but shared clarity: helping all participants—families, clinicians, agencies, and care teams—align on how best to meet an individual’s needs with realistic expectations. The process reduces tension, confusion, and duplication while preserving relationships. At Kirkbride Bridge, Founder Kimberly Kirkbride provides specialized, tailored mediation to help teams come together in their common goal to provide outstanding care to medically or psychologically compromised individuals. Kim is a retired legal operations executive who now facilitates communication among families, providers, and agencies involved in complex care planning. Drawing from decades of leadership in law and professional-services organizations, she brings structure, neutrality, and composure to emotionally charged discussions. Her approach is also informed by personal insight into the challenges families face when navigating medical and disability systems. She views each dialogue as a chance to strengthen understanding and cooperation, not to assign fault.
Kimberly’s compassion informs her skill, not her stance. Drawing on more than thirty years in executive business leadership, she understands the operational realities that shape care delivery—from budgets and insurance coverage to staffing and coordination demands. That dual perspective helps her guide conversations that are both empathetic and pragmatic.
HOW SESSIONS WORK
- Clarify the issues and identify decision-makers.
- Surface facts and perspectives from each participant.
- Define shared goals for the person at the center of care.
- Develop options and responsibilities that are practical and documented in plain language.
- Confirm follow-through and outline next-step coordination.
